Home Minister Sahara Khatun has said Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique's remarks on Limon Hossain, who was reportedly shot by RAB, and his father are indeed government statement, reports bdnews24.com. Sahara Khatun Sunday also said such remarks, however, would not influence the ongoing investigation into the matter. "The comment of the adviser (Siddique) should be treated with respect and taken as a government statement," she said after a meeting with US Ambassador James F Moriarty at the Secretariat. Adviser Siddique Thursday told the media that Limon and his father had close ties with criminals. A RAB team reportedly shot Limon, who used to work in a brick field, in the left leg on Mar 23, a few days before he was to sit Higher Secondary Certificate examinations. His leg was amputated after the incident which drew widespread criticism when the media and the people alleged violation of human rights by the paramilitary force.
