Sidr causes Tk 2.32b loss to agriculture, fisheries in Bagerhat

The cyclone Sidr that hit the country's coastal areas on November 15 has inflicted a loss of over Tk 2.32 billion to the agriculture and fisheries sectors of Bagerhat district, according to an official estimate. Of the total, standing crops worth over Tk 2.30 billion were damaged, whereas fish worth Tk 17.8 million washed away, and some 1,25,000 cultivators and pisciculturists in nine upazilas of the district were badly affected. — UNB
