Siemens, Microsoft help Sidr-hit people

As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), Siemens Bangladesh Limited and Microsoft Bangladesh Limited have stood beside the Sidr- affected people of the country, said a press release.
The authorities of Siemens Bangladesh have donated over 20 water purification filters, while the Microsoft donated US$0.50 million.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Siemens Rudolf P Klink handed over the donation to Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed in the city recently.
Siemens headquarters (Germany) had donated Euro 10,000 for the cyclone Sidr victim through the German Red Cross. The local employees of the organisation also donated cloths to the daily Prothom Alo for the victims.
The authorities of Microsoft have donated the amount through Care Bangladesh. On the other hand, the Microsoft Asia Pacific president has urged all its officials and employees worldwide to donate for the Sidr-hit people.
