Siemens to set up power substation for Ctg Port

Siemens Bangladesh Limited (SBL) has signed a contract recently with Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) for setting-up a 1x12.5 MVA, 33/11 kV power sub-station.
The value of the contract is estimated at Tk 46.7 million.
The works under this contract includes supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 1x12.5 MVA, 33/11 kV Power Transformer, associated 33 kV & 11 kV GIS Switchgear and Power Cables for New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT), said a press release.
Commodore R. U. Ahmed, Chairman, CPA and Hubertus Boesten, CEO-Energy Sector, SBL, signed the contract on behalf of their respective organizations. CPA's Capt. Yahya Syed, Member-Engineering and Md. Khademul Bashar, Project Director-NCT and SBL's S M Shahabuddin (Raj), Director-Chittagong, Aminul Hoque, AGM-Chittagong and Asaduzzaman, Sr. Manager-Power Division were also present on the occasion.
Acclaimed worldwide for its quality products and state-of-the-art expertise, SIEMENS shares a long history of cooperation with the Port Authority; as such, this is the third project awarded to SBL by CPA in the last five years.
In 2003, SBL commendably completed construction of a 33/11 kV Substation along with the overhauling of 11/.415 kV Substation for CPA; and in 2004, SBL supplied 11kV GIS type NXPLUS C for the New Mooring Container Terminal Project. CPA's awarding of this contract to SBL bears testimony to the level of reliability, trust and professionalism that SIEMENS has earned, not only with CPA but the Power Sector of Bangladesh as a whole, over years of consistent quality performance.
The successful completion of this contract will be yet another milestone for SBL's pledge in the development of Bangladesh.
