Silent extortion and sufferings of investors

Recently one of acquaintances having an industry at Narayngong was expressing his despair about paying extortion money while selling excessive accessories or products known as "Jhut". The police also admit the incidents of extortion but refuse to take steps as most of the times the ruling party leaders are directly involved in such racket and a big chunk of money also goes to the pocket of the errant law enforcing members.
Without a strong political will from the ruling party the incidents of random extortion will not come to an end. Due to extortion many investors are losing interest in investing. No one wants to invest in a country where extortion, fear and insecurity reign supreme. We often hear good words from our leaders but good words do not translate into any fruitful action.
I hope the government will take stern action against the criminals who extort money from businessmen, create fear and obstacles and frustrate the investors. The cases of extortion remain unknown as the victims do not want to go to the law enforcing agency due to lack of trust in them. All kinds of extortions should be dealt with heavily so that business can thrive in our country and new investment comes.
