Singapore beat Thailand

Singapore beat Thailand by 5-2 goals in a match of the Robi Asian Games Qualifying Hockey that began at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium (MBNHS) in the city Friday, reports UNB.
In the day's match, Sabir Yuhari struck twice in the 10th and 54th minutes while Ian Vandeput, Prashan Anbalagan and Johnson Sivalingam scored one goal each in the 14th, 43rd and 54th minutes respectively for the winners, who led the first half 2-0.
Tanakoon and Ehewakun Maiprasoet netted one goal apiece in the 56th and 62nd minutes for the losers.
Earlier, in another match, Sri Lanka played to a 3-3 draw with Chinese Taipei (1st half 2-2) at the same venue.
Anju Hewang, Isanka Yayasundara and Gazzaly Mohamed scored one goal each for Sri Lanka in the 5th, 14th and 64th minutes respectively while Tsai Ming, Huang Yu and Chen Yi netted one goal apiece for Chinese Taipei in the 7th, 29th and 52nd minutes respectively.
In the day's opening match, Oman split points with Hong Kong playing to a 1-1 draw at the MBNHS.
Arif Ali put Hong Kong ahead in the 26th minute (1-0) while Samir H scored the equaliser for Oman in the 47th minute (1-1).
Today's matches: Sri Lanka vs Hong Kong (10:00 am), Bangladesh vs Thailand (2:00 pm) and Singapore vs Chinese Taipei (4:00 pm), all at the MBNHS.
