Singapore is willing to join hands with Bangladesh in setting up two power plants -- each of having 700 megawatt capacity-- through joint venture in Bangladesh.
Visiting Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli Bin Masagos Mohamad conveyed the willingness when he met Foreign Affairs Minister AH Mahmood Ali and State Minister Shahriar Alam at the Foreign Ministry Tuesday, according to a news agency.
The Singaporean minister, who is leading a nine-member delegation, also expressed keenness to invest in Bangladesh’s housing sector, said a Foreign Ministry media release.
He said the success of these two areas – housing and power generation - will inspire more Singaporean investors to come here and invest in other prospective areas.
Earlier, outgoing French Ambassador Michel Trinquier met Foreign Minister A H Mahmood Ali at his office.
