Singer holds sewing instructress meet

Singer Sewing Instructress Meet-2011 was held at Update Centre in the city recently, said a press statement. At least 65 individuals including sewing instructresses of Singer sewing schools across the country, field members and top officials of Singer Bangladesh Ltd attended the meeting. Inaugurating the meeting, Singer Bangladesh Ltd managing director and CEO AM Hamim Rahmatullah said Singer is operating the sewing schools as part of its social commitment. Mr Rahmatullah, also vice president of Singer Asia Ltd, urged all to work for progress and prosperity of the country. Among others, company's marketing director Sajidur Rahman Khan and general manager (retail) Mukbulla Huda Chowdhury addressed the meeting. A total of 14 sewing instructresses were rewarded at the meeting in recognition of their performance during the year 2010. Singer Bangladesh Ltd has been operating these sewing schools since 1989 for the betterment of women of the society.
