Singer Mohammad Ali Siddiqui no more

Singer Mohammad Ali Siddiqui passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday following prolonged illness. Family sources said, Siddiqui, who was suffering from various old-age complexities, fell seriously ill in early October. He was admitted to Labaid Hospital and later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the specialised hospital on October 20 as his condition deteriorated further. He breathed his last at the ICU of the hospital this (Tuesday) morning, family and hospital sources said. He left behind his wife, three daughter and a host of relatives and his fans. Siddiqui recorded songs for numerous popular Bangla films during the ’60s and ’70s. He performed both on BTV and Bangladesh Betar (radio) for many years. He also worked for Bangladesh Betar as a music director for several years, according to a news agency.
