SIRAJGANJ, Oct 17: Thousands of T-Aman farmers in the district are expecting a bumper yield this season.
Getting repeated bumper production of the paddy previous year, the peasants have given more attention to the farming.
Recent rainfall was a blessing for paddy cultivators as moderate rainfall helps grow the plants properly, said DAE officials.
According to the DAE sources, farmers have so far brought nearly 70,000 hectares of land under T-Aman paddy aiming for over 0.2 million tonnes of output.
The Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) and DAE are assisting the farmers to ensure supplementary irrigation to make the farming programme a success.
Deputy director of DAE Arshad Ali said farmers are working hard. Most of the growers are using modern technique in their paddy field.
"We all are eyeing a desired output this season", he added.
