Six cops hurt in Narsingdi road mishap

NARSINGDI, Aug 2 (UNB): Six policemen of Sadar thana were injured when a bus rammed into their van at Baghata in Sadar Upazila Saturday morning.
Witnesses said the Monohordi-bound bus hit the police van when a team of police was going towards the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at about 7.30 am.
The accident took place when the team was going to give protection to the motorcade of British High Commissioner Stephen Evans, who is scheduled to go to Sylhet by road Saturday.
The injured constables Sohel, Sohag, Lokman, Shariful and Mostafa, and subedar Mahfuz were sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where conditions of Sohel and Sohag were stated to be critical.
