Land lease agreements with BEZA

Six cos to invest $69m in three EZs

Some six companies are set to make investment worth around $69 million altogether in three economic zones (EZ) of the country in order to establish industrial units and hospitality facilities.
In this regard, they inked land lease agreements with the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) at a programme held at its headquarters in the capital's Agargaon area on Wednesday.
The cumulative investment of the companies will create employment for nearly 2600 people.
The companies are Linde Bangladesh Ltd, Master Rack & Furniture, Sanjana Fabrics
Ltd, OMC Limited, SFL Hotel
& Resorts, and Kinbo Manufacturing Industries Ltd.
BEZA executive chairman Shaikh Yusuf Harun chaired the signing ceremony while its executive member (Investment Promotion) Mozibor Rahman inked the deals on behalf of the BEZA.
Linde managing director (MD) Bibhabasu Sengupta, Master Rack proprietor Al Mamun, Sanjana Fabrics MD Sohrab Hossain, OMC director Rizwan Mannan, SFL MD Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat and Kinbo MD Naveed Ahmed inked
the deals on behalf of their
respective sides.
According to the investment proposals, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar will accommodate two of the six companies.
Linde will establish an air separation plant on an area of five acres with an investment of $17 million creating an employment opportunity for 70 people.
In the same estate, Master Rack will invest $7.0 million for establishing a plant to manufacture industrial racking system.
The proposed industrial units to be established on three acres of land will generate 800 jobs there.
The company is looking to sell industrial racks to the growing factories in EZs and also export the items.
On the other hand, three companies will establish hospitality facilities, including hotel, motel and resort at Sabrang Tourism Park.
Sanjana Fabrics will build a hotel and resort on a three-acre plot
with an investment of $20
million and creating employment for 365 people.
Meanwhile, OMC is getting two acres of land for investing $7.0 million while generating 315 jobs.
SFL Hotel is eyeing to create approximately 1,000 jobs on its six-acre land facility through an investment worth $16 million.
Jamalpur Economic Zone will accommodate Kinbo Manufacturing, which is going to set up an industrial unit on two acres of land with an investment of $2 million.
