Six-day Int'l confce on 'global climate change' begins in city Aug 25

A six-day international conference on 'global climate change and its affects' will be held in Dhaka from August 25 to 30.
Dhaka University (DU) and Ohio State University, USA are jointly organising the conference in cooperation with World Metrological Organisation (WMO), Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
A good number of specialist delegates from different countries of the world including WMO and FAO secretary generals will join the event.
To make the conference a grand success, a meeting of the Conference Coordination and Preparatory Committee was held at the DU senate building with committee's Convener and Science Faculty Dean Tajmery SA Islam in the chair Saturday.
DU Vice-chancellor and conference Chairman SMA Faiz and Chief Coordinator AHM Mustafizur Rahman, among others, attended the meeting to discuss the overall preparation of the conference.
