Six drown, 3 missing in Sirajganj boat capsize

SIRAJGANJ, July 20: Six people, including four children of a family, drowned and three others went missing as a boat sank in the rain-fed Dabilar Beel in Ullapara Upazila Friday. Locals said the boat, heading towards Chandalgati from Bahuliaghat, sank as it was caught by a violent storm at around 12:30 pm, leaving six of its passengers drowned. The deceased were identified as Russell (7), Mousumi (5), Riya (4), Sagar (2), children of Manju Sarker of Bahulia village, and Shanta (7) and Momena Begum of Bahulia village. — UNB
