Six hurt, 200 houses damaged

FARIDPUR, Sept 18 (UNB): At least six people were injured and over 200 houses damaged as a tornado lashed two unions in Nagarkanda Upazila early Thursday.
Local sources said the severe storm hit Jarra Mridhapara village in Bhawal union and Gopalia village in Sonapur union at about 6:50am and lasted for two minutes.
Bhawal union parishad chairman Delwar Hossain said six people were injured as broken and uprooted trees fell on them.
Upazila administration began rescue drive following the storm that uprooted many trees.
