Six killed in city road accidents

Six people, including three motorcyclists, were killed in separate accidents in the city's Karwan Bazar, Malibagh Chowdhury Para, Airport, Khilgaon and Khilkhet areas on Wednesday, reports UNB.
Four of the deceased were identified as Mehedi Hasan alias Noyon, 37, son of Abdul Jalil of 444 Dakkhin Paikpara in Mirpur, Md Mainuddin, 18, Ashiqur Rahman Shanta, 20, and Sultan Khan, 65.
A bus overturned near the private television channel 'ATN News' at Karwan Bazar around 6:15 pm after it was hit by another bus, leaving one passenger dead and 10-15 others injured.
Earlier at about 3:15 pm, a Tongi-bound bus of 'Turag Paribahan' from Jatrabari ran over Sultan Khan when he was crossing the road in front of South Asian School and College at Malibagh Chowdhury Para, killing him on the spot.
A covered van hit a motorcycle on the Khilgaon Flyover at about 5:00 am, leaving three motorcyclists -Mainuddin, Shanta and Imran - critically injured.
They were rushed to the DMCH where Shanta was declared dead at about 5:50am while Mainuddin succumbed to his injuries at about 10am.
An unidentified man was hit by a speedy train near the Kuril Flyover around 10:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
