Six killed in Ctg road accidents

CHITTAGONG, March 20: Six including three of a family died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city and the district Thursday night and Friday, police and hospital sources said. The dead were Joynal Abedin (45), his wife Sahana Begum (36) and their son Raihan (5) of Fatihapur village on the border of Feni district and Mirsorai Upazila; Ismail Hossain (35) and Siraj Ahmed (27), passengers of a pickup van, of Sitakundu Upazila of Chittagong; and Alamgir Hossain (31), son of Mustafizur Rahman, of Pahartali in the city. Injured Abdul Wadud (33), Ashik (35) and Nurul Alam were admitted to the Chandhanish Health Complex. Sahana, Joynal and Raihan received fatal injuries when a Chittagong-bound passenger bus knocked their rickshaw at Fatihapur on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at 8:30pm Thursday. Locals brought them to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) at 11:50pm. The attending doctors declared them dead. — BSS
