Yasin Sakhawat Bhuiyan, elder brother of victim Yasin Awaj Bhuiyan Rownak, filed the case with the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Salem Mohammad Noman on Wednesday.
Accepting the complaint, the court ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate it, said Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury, counsel of the complainant.
The court also asked for forming a three-member medical board to examine the victim's physical condition and submitting a report within 30 days.
The accused policemen are sub-inspector Jahirul Islam, in-charge of CMC police camp, assistant sub-inspector Shilabrata Barua, constables Mahbubur Rahman and Firoz Miah, and nayek Hamidur Rahman and Amir Hossain.
On January 20 last, a group of BCL leaders and activists locked into a scuffle with on-duty policemen at the CMCH.
At one stage, the law enforcers detained Rownak, a leader of MES College unit BCL, and beat him mercilessly.
After his treatment at the hospital for three days, he was taken under police custody on Wednesday.
