Sixth round National Cricket League begins today

The eight-team sixth round battle of the four-day Walton 16th National Cricket League (NCL) will begin at 9:30 am today (Monday) at four separate venues in Dhaka and adjoining areas, reports UNB.
In the opening day's sixth round matches, League leader Rangpur Division will take on defending champions Dhaka Division at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur; Rajshahi Division play Barisal Division on the BKSP Ground-2 in Savar; Dhaka Metropolis face Khulna Division on the BKSP Ground-3; and Chittagong Division meet Sylhet Division at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
After the fifth round matches, Rangpur Division earned 87 points with three wins and two draws to leapfrog to the top slot from previous third position and Khulna Division with 86 points (three wins and loss-draw 1-1) retained their second place on net run rate while Dhaka Division with identical 86 points (three wins and two draws) drops to third from previous first position.
Securing 67 points, Dhaka Metro maintained the fourth place with two wins, one loss and two draws while Rajshahi Division bagged 45 points also retained their previous fifth place with win-loss 1-3 and one draw.
Barisal Division (33 points) leapfrogged Sylhet Division (30 points) to take the sixth position while Chittagong Division (22) remained in their previous 8th place.
