Skoot teams up with Walton to manufacture e-bikes

Skoot Ltd., a startup, and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to jointly manufacture electric bikes (e-bikes).
The promising startup had received a pre-seed grant from the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in 2022.
Kazi Ridwan Ahamed, Managing Director of Skoot, and Md Touhidur Rahman, Chief Business Officer of Walton Digi-Tech Industries, signed the MoU at the Walton' s corporate head office in Dhaka on Thursday, says a press release.
Skoot's directors Sihab Khan and Parth Roy, and Walton Digi-Tech Industries' Head of Marketing Md. Taufiq Imam, Deputy Assistant Director of Sales Fuad Rahman and Deputy Director (Ebike) Kaikobad Siddiquie were present, among others.
As per the MoU, Skoot and Walton have made a mutual commitment to manufacturing eco-friendly and hi-tech e-bikes in the country in the near future.
Both companies aim to create high-quality and advanced products that enhance the overall riding experience for customers. Through this strategic partnership, both companies hope to create a better future for the e-bike industry.
Along with other startups, Skoot is growing rapidly as a portfolio startup of iDEA Project. In addition to grants, iDEA Project also provides startups with regular mentoring, training and networking as per their necessities and free use of co-working space.
Shohag Chandra Das, Consultant & the Lead of communication of the iDEA project, shared that along with increasing the skills of startups, it is also playing a significant role in the development, promotion and expansion of business.
