Slain councillor’s supporters on rampage

Supporters of murdered Narayanganj City Councillor Nazrul Islam have set fire to the office of another councillor Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the case over his abduction and killing. Witnesses say hundreds of men went on the rampage after the councillor’s second Namaz-e-Janaza was held near Sanarpar bus stand at Siddhirganj at Thursday noon. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shahidul Islam of Narayanganj Police told bdnews24.com they set fire to Nur Hossain's office. Ruling-Awami League backed councillor Nazrul Islam was among the seven whose bodies were recovered from the river Shitalakhya in the past 48 hours, according to bdnews24.com.
