Smart NID cards

The national identity (NID) card plays an import role in our life. We need it in every sphere of our life. When we go to open a bank account or buy a mobile phone SIM,   we need this vital card.
But it is not completely secure yet, as anyone having a little expertise possessing a computer and a printer can make a fake NID card. Often the law enforcement agency members seize fake national identity cards but it is not possible for them to stop it completely. The government should introduce Smart ID cards with a chip, which will store necessary information about a citizen.
When the NID card is digitised, the government will be able to look into the information it needs and this will make its work easier. Initially, although the whole project will cost a lot, its benefits will be great in the long run. It will outweigh its cost.
It will be very difficult for the criminals to forge Smart NID cards; and the law enforcing agencies will be able to track down a citizen's whereabouts through his NID card location.
It is high time the government considered this important matter and executed it.
