Smoking more harmful for women

Monday, 15 September 2014

Cigarettes are injurious to our health but despite knowing it many smokers cannot quit smoking as it is a very addictive habit so the government and anti-tobacco organizations should work together to arrest the creation of new smokers. Once the habit of smoking is formed in early years, it is very difficult to get rid of it. Smoking causes more adverse effects on health of women than male so they should avoid it. Women who smoke have hard time to get pregnant and they have higher chances of losing their baby prematurely.
Nowadays, many young girls smoke as they think it is the sign of women's liberation which is nothing but a false sense.  Smoking has a link with depression and women who smoke are more likely to be in bouts of depression.
Health is a precious gift from the almighty and we should nurture it and should not destroy it.   It is good to know that the number of women smokers in Bangladesh is relatively low if we compare them with the number of male smokers. I hope the smokers will realise that the early they quit smoking the greater the health benefits for them.
