NILPHAMARI, Sept 10: Smuggling in Indo-Bangladesh boarder is going on unabated in the Santahar-Parbotipur segment of Bangladesh railway's west zone.
Particularly in the Hili boarder railway station which stands at zero distance from India is a safe haven for hundreds of professional smugglers. They carry smuggled goods both in local and inter city trains.
Sources said smuggled goods comprise of sugar, sari, onion, garlic, phensidyl, contraband drugs and so on. Smugglers are openly assisted by BBG and they also comprise an inseparable part of the gang of smugglers.
The law enforcing BBG do not even bother to heed the claim of the passengers of the trains to stop the unlawful activities of the smugglers.
The passengers become victim of worst sufferings as the trains are detained in the Hilly station for a long time by the BBG to help the smugglers.
