Snatcher killed in mob beating at Gaffargaon

MYMENSINGH, Jun 12 (BSS): A snatcher was killed and another was injured seriously in a mob beating in Gafargoan Railway Station early hours today.
The dead was identified as Shakil, 20, son of Babul Hossain of Shilashia village under Gafargoan upazila.
Abdus Sattar, officer-in-charge of GRP Mymensingh said, a gang of snatchers boarded a Dhaka bound 'Aghnibina Intercity' train from Mymensingh.
When the train reached Gafargoan Railway station around 8.30 pm last night the gang snatched valuables from a passenger at a compartment of the train. Other passengers caught two snatchers-Shakil and Kabir Hossain- both hailed from Gafargoan and gave them rough up.
On information, on duty security personnel of the train rushed to the spot and rescued the snatchers and handed over them to GRP Gafargoan.
Both Shakil and Kabir Hossain were admitted to Gafargoan Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where Shakil succumbed to his injuries around 2 am last night.
The GRP also arrested three members of the gang-Aminul, Mona and Humayun- all hailed from Durgapur of Netrokona district for their alleged involvement in snatching, the OC said.
The body has been kept at MMCH for autopsy.
