Snatchers take Tk 0.3m from bKash agent

Unidentified miscreants shot a bKash agent and took away around Tk 0.3 million from him in the capital's Tejgaon industrial area in early hours of Tuesday, police said.
The victim identified as Saiful Islam was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
When contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station Mizanur Rahman confirmed the shooting incident, saying that the incident took place at about 12:15am when he was returning home after shutting his shop down.
Citing the victim, he said a group of four snatchers in a private car intercepted Saiful's way in North Begunbari where he resides along with family and demanded the money-containing-bag carried by the victim.
As he resisted them from being robbed, the snatchers shot him in the leg and left the place with the booty, leaving him seriously injured.
The OC requested people from all walks to take police escort before carrying substantial amount of money to avert any trouble as various criminal groups target the occasion of Ramadan for committing crimes when money transaction normally goes up.
However, police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the shooting incident.
