SNMB gets new executive body

Prof Dr Shamim Momtaz Ferdousi Begum and Prof Dr Sadia Sultana have been elected president and general secretary of Society of Nuclear Medicine, Bangladesh (SNMB) respectively.
In its recent annual general meeting, the society elected them, forming a new executive committee.
It also celebrated its silver jubilee at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the city and held its 25th national conference.
Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman attended the programme as the chief guest whlie Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Dr Azizul Huq, Bangladesh Mohila Parishad President and nuclear physician Dr Fauzia Moslem and member Dr Asok Kumar Pal as the special guests.
Former chairman Prof Dr M A Karim was also present at the programme.
General Secretary of the society Prof Dr Faria Nasrin made a video presentation on history, activity and scientific aspects of nuclear medicine.
President of the society Prof Dr Raihan Hossain said celebration of the programme was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic but coordinated efforts made it possible for holding the programme.
The science and technology minister lauded the contribution of nuclear medicine society to the country and suggested working with professional integrity.
Speakers at the programme stressed the need for expanding therapeutic nuclear medicine.
