Some 398 Bangladeshis purchased properties worth $225m in Dubai

Some 398 Bangladeshi nationals purchased 641 properties valued at an estimated US$225 million in Dubai in 2022, according to a report.
The number of Bangladeshis who have bought cent-percent ready-made housing assets or intend to purchase unfurnished housing assets in Dubai city and whose details have been leaked has been mentioned in the report by the EU Tax Observatory.
The report showed that Bangladeshi people bought ready and unprepared assets in Dubai city and the number of Bangladeshis who were leaked was 405 people in 2020 and the value of their purchased assets was 21 million 12 million dollars; Bangladeshis bought a total of 657 properties that year.
Bangladeshis purchased a total of 641 properties, the report said, adding the total number could be 532 in 2022.
Using various data, the EU Tax Observatory in its report said the total number could be 532 in 2022.
The report, however, did not go into further details about their identities.
According to the report of 2022 data assessed by economists and reporters from 74 partners in 58 countries, the number of residential properties owned by foreigners put Indians first, at 35,000 properties and 29,700 owners.
According to the report, owners with Pakistani nationality become second among foreigners at 17,000 owners of 23,000 residential properties
However, a six-month investigation, led by the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and the Norwegian outlet E24, uncovered scores of convicted criminals, fugitives, political figures, and sanctioned individuals who have recently owned real estate in Dubai.
