Some items see fresh hike

Prices of many of commodities including fish, meat, spices, egg, vegetables and pulses registered fresh hike in the week ended Friday over the previous week, according the key kitchen markets. However, prices of rice, edible oil and chilli remained unchanged on the day compared to that of its previous level. Prices of poultry meat, beef, mutton, pulses including chickpea and lentil, spices like onion, ginger, garlic, cardamom, cinnamon, cumin seed, coriander seed, turmeric powder, dried chilli, increased by Tk 10-60 per kg. Beef was sold at Tk 390-410 per kg in different markets which was Tk 370-390 last week. Egg prices increased by Tk 2 at per hali (four pieces) and was sold between Tk 30 and Tk 32. Vegetables including pointed gourd, teasle gourd, bitter gourd, tomato prices increased by Tk 10-15 per kg. Pointed gourd was sold at Tk 50-55, bitter gourds at Tk 55-60 per kg on the day. Onion market witnessed see-saw movement over the week. After a decline by Tk 2-3 per kg in the middle of last week, the prices again increased by Tk 3-4 per kg on Friday.
