Son at police station to sue parents for torturing wife in city

A young man came to Shahbagh Police Station to sue his parents over torturing his 7-month pregnant wife in the city on Saturday afternoon. Gulger Alam, husband of Fatema Akter, 21, came up with the allegation while talking to the reporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Gulger said his mother and father started torturing and creating pressure on his wife since his marriage with Fatema, a 3rd year student of a private university, on March 28 this year. Recently Gulger’s parents tried to drive the couple out of their home. On Saturday, they burnt Fatema’s body. Earlier, over the issue Gulger filed a general diary that led to more torture. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station Sirajul Islam said they would take measures against the accused, according to a news agency.
