Sonali Bank disburses agri loan in SIDR-hit areas

Sonali Bank Limited is set to disburse huge amounts of agri loan in the SIDR-affected areas of the southern part of the country.
Managing Director (MD) of the bank SM Aminur Rahman visited a number of branches and offices located in SIDR-hit Madaripur, Gopalganj and Faridpur districts to observe the on-going intensive disbursement programme of agri-loan facilities to the victim farmers.
During the visit, the MD gave directive to concerned bank officials to disburse agri loan on easy term without taking any down-payment for reschedulling.
He also warned against any sort of reluctance shown or irregularities in this connection.
Sonali Bank set a target of Tk 6.25 billion (625 crore) disbursement in the agriculture sector during the current fiscal (2007-08).
