Sonali Bank goes online

Sonali Bank Limited, the largest commercial bank in the country, has launched on-line and SMS banking services initially in 15 branches in the capital to facilitate its customers, said a press release.
The bank will extend the on-line and SMS services to 39 other branches in the city shortly.
The customers will be able to obtain instant information through SMS banking service like account balance, interest rates, account statement, currency rates and others.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the bank SA Chowdhury was present at the launching ceremony held at Hotel Shevaton recently as the chief guest.
General Manager of Beximco Computers Limited Abu Zafar Khan, Chief Operating Officer of Bangladesh Online Limited Syed Samiul Wadood and Managing Director of Software Shop Limited Wireless Sayeeful Islam were present as special guests.
Beximco Computers has provided technical support by providing software in continuation to its earlier software support of BEXIBANK 5000+ to Sonali Bank.
Software Shop Limited Wireless worked as a business partner to establish the telecommunication network, particularly using of 6969 code, the release pointed out.
Among others, deputy managing directors of the bank Kazi Faqurul Islam and Prodip Kumar Dutta were present at the launching ceremony, the release added.
