Sonali Bank heist prime suspect on 7-day remand

Suspected mastermind of the Sonali Bank heist Yusuf Munshi, alias Habib alias Sohel has been placed on a 7-day remand by a court in Kishoreganj town in the sensational bank robbery case. Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station’s officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Malek produced Yusuf Munshi before the judicial court on Thursday seeking 15 days remand for quizzing in connection with Sunday’s Sonali Bank robbery in Kishoreganj town. The court granted the remand in the afternoon. Rapid Action Battalion personnel arrested prime suspect Yusuf Munshi of Patuakhali district and his two accomplices from Shyampur area in Dhaka city along with Tk 164 million packed in five sacks two days after they looted the money from Sonali Bank in Kishoreganj on Tuesday, according to a news agency.
