Sonali Bank holds 2nd AGM

The second annual general meeting (AGM) of Sonali Bank Limited was held at its head office in the city Wednesday.
Chairman of the board of directors of Sonali Bank Limited Quazi Baharul Islam presided over the AGM while its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director SA Chowdhury and other directors with the representative of Govt, board members and Company Secretary were present on the occasion.
The meeting discussed and approved the financial statements and Annual Report of the bank as on 31 December 2008. Appointment of the auditors for 2009 and their remuneration were also approved in the meeting, Sonali Bank office said.
The 2nd AGM termed the progress made by the bank during 2008 in almost all the indicators fixed by Finance Division and Bangladesh Bank as satisfactory.
However, the shareholders affirmed that this progress must be sustained and ongoing reforms programme will be accelerated for strengthening the base of the bank.
