Tuesday, 8 September 2009

An office-bearer of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) was humiliated Sunday by officers of Sonali Bank, Supreme Court (SC) branch, angering the lawyers, reports UNB.
Witnesses said the trouble started at about 1:00pm as principal officer Fazlur Rahman Miah refused to provide information when SCBA Assistant Secretary M Badruzzaman Badal wanted to know whether a TT from Satkhira was deposited in favour of his savings account.
As SCBA leader Badal strongly protested the behaviour of the bank official, other bank officers, including cash officer Mahmud Hassan, joined Fazlur Rahman and humiliated him.
When contacted, Badal told the news agency that he had already sent a letter to the general manager, Sonali Bank Head Office, demanding immediate withdrawal of the bank officers from its SC branch for their misconduct with a client.
