Sonali Bank opens ATM booth in city

Sonali Bank Limited (SBL) opened a Q-cash ATM booth at its local office in the city Sunday, said a press release.

SBL Board of Directors Chairman Ali Imam Majumder inaugurated the booth as the chief guest, while its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director SA Chowdhury was present as the special guest.

Local Office General Manager MA Baten Khan presided over the inaugural ceremony.

Board of directors' members and senior officials, and a large number of clients of the bank were present on the occasion.

The SBL chairman said thirteen (13) such ATM booths will be opened in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna cities very soon.

Computerisation of 200 branches has been completed, other 400 branches will be computerised within 2009 and rest of the branches will also be computerised by phases, the chairman said.

The bank has launched Remittance Management System (RMS) to reach remittances to the beneficiaries within 24 hours in any part of the country, he pointed out.

For inland remittances such as DD, MT and TT Instant Financial Reconciliation Messaging System (IFRMS) have been established within 300 branches to facilitate the customers to get their payment instantly.
