Sonali Bank to start Islamic banking soon

Sonali Bank Limited will start Islamic banking activities in addition to its traditional banking likely from January 2009, said a press release.
In this connection, the staff college of the bank arranged a 15-day training course on Islamic banking for the officers of the bank.
Managing Director-cum-CEO SA Chowdhury inaugurated the course.
AHM Shahnewaz, Principal of the college, chaired the inaugural function.
The bank's Human Resources Division General Manager MA Baten Khan and Marketing and Development Division DGM Hasan Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
