South Korea co to invest $7.38m in Karnaphuli EPZ

M/s Campha Outdoor Limited, a South Korean company, will set up a camping items plant in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ) involving US$7.38 million.
In this connection, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Campha Outdoor Ltd. in the city Thursday, said a press release.
Member (Investment promotion) of the BEPZA Sayed Nurul Islam and Managing Director of the Campha Outdoor Kim Beom Joon signed the agreement on behalf of the respective sides.
The fully foreign-owned company will produce annually two million pieces of tents, sleeping bags, camping chair and all kinds of bags in the factory.
The company will also create employment opportunity for about 1100 Bangladeshi.
Among others, Executive Chairman of the BEPZA Major General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Khan was present at the deal signing ceremony.
