Southeast Bank leads turnover chart

Ten-most traded stocks grab 39pc transaction

Ten-most traded stocks grabbed 39 per cent transaction of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Sunday while Southeast Bank topped the turnover list after a long time.
Southeast Bank became the top turnover leader as some investors showed their buying appetite on its shares amid positive expectations ahead, according to a stockbroker.
According to the DSE data, some 47.58 million shares of Southeast Bank were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 702.54 million, which was 10.30 per cent of the day's total turnover.
The private commercial bank's share price also jumped 4.96 per cent to close at Tk 14.80 on Sunday in the falling market. It was the day's second highest gainer.
Its share price traded between Tk 13.30 and Tk 18.30 in the last one year.
The bank's first quarter (Q1) earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 1.31 for January-March 2022 as against Tk 1.22 for January-March 2021.
Meanwhile, the bank has recommended 8.0 per cent cash and 4.0 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2021. The annual general meeting will be held on August 11.
IPDC Finance came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 392 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 1.72 per cent to close at Tk 45.70 each on Sunday.
Beximco clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 357 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 125.90, losing 4.69 per cent over the previous day.
Delta Life Insurance emerged as the fourth, with shares worth Tk 293 million changing hands. The life insurer's share price jumped 5.60 per cent to close at Tk 118.80. It was the day's top gainer.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 241 million changing hands. The state-run company's share closed at Tk 116.50 each, losing 0.17 per cent.
The turnover of JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing was Tk 233 million. The medical equipment producer's share fell by 4.98 per cent to close at Tk 76.30 each.
Salvo Chemical Industries featured a turnover of Tk 167 million. The company's share closed at Tk 60.10, losing 3.69 per cent over the previous day.
The turnover of GSP Finance was Tk 123 million. The company's share price advanced 2.46 per cent to close at Tk 29.20 each.
ACI Formulations featured a turnover of Tk 86 million. The company's share closed at Tk 172.70 each, shedding 4.90 per cent.
Shinepukur Ceramics also made its way to the day's top turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 80 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 4.94 per cent to close at Tk 38.50 each.
