Southern University holds debate contest in Ctg

An intra-departmental debate competition was held at the Southern University campus, Chittagong recently. The title of the competition was "It is Better to Have Brains Than Beauty," says a press release.
The team for the motion was declared the winner of the competition. Rokon Uddin, a student of Business Administration secured the best debater award. The event was presided over by Prof. AZM Shamsuzzaman Khan, Head , Dept. of English whilst Prof. Dr. Sharifuzzaman , Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University graced the event as the chief guest. Sarwar Jahan, Founder of Southern University , also spoke at the event.
In his address, the chief guest said in order to elicit the latent talent, the students must link themselves to the extra curricular activities besides their academic studies. Founder of the University, Sarwar Jahan conveyed thanks to the organizer to accomplish the event in a befitting manner.
