Southern varsity founder attends UN seminar

Sarwar Jahan, founder of Southern University, Bangladesh, took part in a five-day seminar on "Mediation, Human Rights and the Post-2015 Development Agenda" at United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York recently, said a press release.
UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson inaugurated the programme while high-ranking speakers included Kathy Calvin, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of UN Foundation and Bonian Golmohammadi, secretary-general of World Federation United Nations Associations, attended it.
A total of 45 participants from 25 countries took part in the city seminar.
They discussed various issues relating to innovation, motivation and leadership and focused on the use of technology for peace and security purposes, the release added.
