Soybean cultivation gaining popularity in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Dec 2: Soybean cultivation is gaining popularity in the district year on year due to suitability of its soil.
Local office of the Department Agriculture Extension (DAE) has undertaken a comprehensive scheme to cultivate soybean in the area on a priority basis.
Soybean will be cultivated in the four upazilas on large scale in the current season. The upazilas are Faridpur Sadar, Bhanga, Sadarpur and Nagarkanda.
DAE has decided to cultivate soybean in 30 demonstration plots. The department will supply seed and fertiliser free of cost. Farmers will be given practical training in each upazilas to cultivate the crop.
Demonstration plots have been selected beside roads and highways.
