Space for CAI to be alloted

Commerce Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan Sunday said chartered accountants can play a significant role in pushing the country toward development by utilising their merit and experience. "The chartered accountants and the students of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladeesh (ICAB) have a key role in making the country digital, " he said as the chief guest at the "Installation Ceremony 2010-12" of newly elected office bearers of Bangladesh Chartered Accountancy Chhatra Parishad (BCACP) at Engineers Institution auditorium in the capital. Faruk Khan also gave word to the Chartered Accountancy students for immediate allotment of space to establish a Chartered Accountancy Institute (CAI) including students' hostel with latest facilities. Faruk Khan gave assurance of full cooperation in promoting the accounting profession in the country. ICAB President Parveen Mahmud was present as a special guest in the programme where Vice president of ICAB Abdus Salam and founder-president of BCACP Md. Anwar Hossain were present, among others. Parveen Mahmud requested the government to ensure latest facilities for the students of chartered accountancy for the sake of the national development. - FE Report
