Spanish inflation steady 3pc in Oct

MADRID, Nov 15 (AFP): Spain's inflation rate steadied in October at a high 3.0 per cent on a 12-month basis, figures from the national statistics institute showed Tuesday. The measure of the rise in consumer prices had risen to 3.0 per cent in September after dipping to 2.7 per cent in August. It stands at a level comparable to the start of the economic crisis in 2008. Consumer price rises were most marked in tobacco and alcohol, which rose 10.4 per cent, transport and fuel (up 7.6 per cent) and housing (up 6.3 per cent).
