Speaker meets Laos counterpart

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury had a courtesy call on Pany Yathotou, Laos Parliament Speaker and IPU Asia-Pacific Group Chairman, at Geneva in Switzerland on Sunday. Expressing her satisfaction over the existing relations between Bangladesh and Laos, Dr Shirin Sharmin said there are scopes for expanding the ties in the fields of agriculture, industry, trade and commerce, investment and social sector, according to a message received in Dhaka on Monday. Both the Speakers also agreed on the exchange of political and official visits between the two countries to strengthen the existing relations, according to a news agency.
