Speaker seeks help of journos in making JS more effective

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Wednesday said constructive and in-depth reporting by the journalists who cover parliament proceedings would help make the 10th parliament more effective. “It’s our expectations we’ll make the 10th parliament more effective through joint efforts,” she said adding that journalists and Parliament are deeply linked as both are part of Parliament family. The Speaker made the remarks while addressing a pre-Iftar interaction with journalists at the Jatiya Sangshad Bhaban. Bangladesh Parliament Journalists’ Association (BPJA) hosted the Iftar party. Dr Shirin mentioned that the role of journalists is very important in strengthening parliamentary democracy, according to a news agency.
