Speaker seeks Turkish support for dev

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Wednesday sought enhanced cooperation from Turkey in expediting Bangladesh’s development. Terming bilateral ties with Turkey very excellent, she said there is a scope for Turkey to extend cooperation in the areas of trade, commerce, investment and gender equity. The issues came up for discussions when Turkish Ambassador in Dhaka Huseyin Muftuoglu met her at her Parliament office, according to a Parliament Secretariat media release. The Speaker also said Bangladesh is marching ahead in the right direction and sought all-out cooperation from Turkey in expanding the existing ties between the two countries, according to a news agency.
