Speakers call for expediting mosque-based edn activities

RAJSHAHI, Jan 1 (BSS): Speakers at a book distribution ceremony here Sunday called for expediting the mosque-based pre- primary and mass education activities for mental development of children side by side with physical one.
Besides, they said that the teachers and others concerned should be more proactive.
Rajshahi Divisional Office of Islamic Foundation (IF) organised the ceremony at its conference hall marking the inauguration of book distribution programme as elsewhere in the country. According to the officials concerned, books were distributed among 12,600 kids of 420 centres in the district including 111 in Rajshahi metropolis.
Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Abdul Hannan and Principal of Rajshahi Court Degree College Shafiqur Rahman Badsha attended and addressed the ceremony as the chief and special guest respectively with IF Divisional Director Halim Hossain Khan in the chair.
IF Deputy Director Saiful Islam illustrated the teaching and learning process of the mosque-based centres and aims and objectives of those.
Terming the children as the future power of the nation, the speakers called for developing their latent intelligence and emphasised the need for proper physical and mental development of children for building a healthy and mentally sound nation.
Besides, the children should be protected from all sorts of violence, repression and oppression so that they could build themselves competent enough to serve the nation.
Large number of tiny students, guardians, teachers and others concerned attended the festive-like ceremony.
