Speakers recall Serniabat's efforts towards country's peasantry

Speakers paid rich tributes to August 15 victim Abdur Rob Serniabat who left invaluable contributions for protecting the rights of country's peasantry, especially the landless people in abject poverty.
The speakers said this at a discussion jointly organised by Jatiya Ganotantrik League and Dakkhin Bangla Jubo Kallyan Samity in the city Friday to mark the 34th anniversary of martyrdom of this undisputed leader of the Southern Bangladesh, reports BSS.
"Abdur Rob Serniabat, who was consecutively minister for Land Reform and Land Administration and Water Resources Development, was the first in this country to enunciate modern, pragmatic and epoch-making land reform policy in the country", they said.
Noted lawyer and former minister of Bangabandhu Cabinet Barrister Amir-ul-Islam attended the function as the chief guest, while Awami League Presidium Member and chairman of BSS Management Board Advocate Yusuf Hossian Humayun was the special guest with Jubo Kallyan Samity general secretary ALM Mostafa Kamal in the chair.
