Saturday, 12 December 2009
The government is planning to infuse an additional fund of Tk 1.36 billion(136 crore) to restart three state owned jute mills which were earlier declared closed. The Jute Ministry sources told BSS that the decision to infuse the fund is lying with the Finance Ministry for approval to resume the operation of the Kawmi Jute Mills, People's Jute Mills and Daulatpur Jute Mills. The additional fund was sought to pay back the outstanding debts of the jute mills, the ministry sources said adding the approval is expected to be given this month. — BSS
